Teen & Student Program

Help your teen learn responsible financial habits with our Award Winning Program! This unique opportunity offers teens age 13-17 and students age 18-23 (who are dependents and enrolled in college or continuing education) the ability to become financially stable and graduate from high school or college with excellent credit. They will be equipped with the knowledge and skills to start on a sound financial path. Teen and Student accounts require a parent or guardian as a joint owner.

Program Highlights:

A parent or guardian must be on the account as a joint owner. We encourage the teen/student to install our mobile banking app on their phone to manage their account. Teens and students enrolled in this program also receive special financial education via direct mail and online money lessons.

Teen Savings Account

This basic savings account requires $5.00 to open and has no minimum balance or monthly fees. When your teen becomes a member of HCPFCU, they start with this base account.

Teen Checking Account with Debit Card (Age 13+)

This account requires a $25 deposit and has no monthly fees or minimum balance requirement. Teens (and parent/guardian joint owners) can monitor account activity via our mobile app and set up transaction alerts. The teen member will also have a debit card to learn to manage regular transactions in their name.

Teen / Student Credit Card (Age 16+)

Our teen credit card requires a joint owner with a parent or guardian on the account; however, the joint owner's credit rating does not impact this card. Teen credit cards start with a $250 limit. The usage of this card will help to build a credit history.

Shared Secured Loan (Age 17+)

This type of loan is perfect for building credit or starting a credit history. With our Share Secured Loan, you can borrow against the money you already have in your savings account. As you pay off your loan, more of your money is released to you while building your credit history.

Money Lessons

HCPFCU Teen members get free access to this material that can be viewed independently or as a family. Teen members also receive direct mail with money savings tips.
